Asbestos are my favorite play medium in OT…

I was looking at a book called “Play Therapy” by Virginia M. Axline. I was reading about one of the sessions where it explains what the kids are doing and what they say, when I came across this: “The group worked on puppet heads made out of powdered asbestos and paste and water.” and then later,

“Tom: No. (Silence. The children worked with the asbestos material.) Know what? This stuff feels like dead flesh.”

“The group attacks the asbestos head of Hitler….”

I almost spit out my drink. It was when I got to the asbestos segment that I checked the publishing date. It was written in 1947. Can you imagine??? WOW.
