Nearly 3 in 10 American Adults Say They Have a Disability That Affects Daily Activities 
About 62 million adults in the U.S. report some form of difficulty with basic movement or sensory, cognitive,or emotional difficulties associated with a health condition. About two-thirds of the adults with disabilities were ages 65 or younger, with their disability related to problems such as diabetes, arthritis, and heart disease. The National Center for Health Statistics report analyzed data from 157,976 adults from 2001 to 2005.
